Ways You Can Help

Monetary

Mary's Shelter is a nondenominational, non-profit organization that relies on the financial support of individuals, organizations, churches and businesses. In addition, the Shelter hosts two fundraising events and conducts an annual appeal. The organization continues to seek additional funding through grants, foundations, trusts and donations of appreciated stock.

Mary's Shelter is registered with the Bureau of Charitable Organizations. All contributions to Mary's Shelter are tax-deductible according to IRS guidelines for 501 (c)(3) organizations.

For more information on charitable contribution, contact Chris at 610-603-8010 or chris@marysshelter.org.

Baby Bottle Campaign

The Baby Bottle Campaigns serve a dual purpose: First, by collecting your spare change, you will help change the lives of the mothers, babies and youth in our care. The Baby Bottle Campaigns are simple, easy to coordinate and fun for everyone involved.

Second, you can help raise awareness for Mary's Shelter by displaying the baby bottle in your home or at work. This opens the door for conversations about Mary’s Shelter and the amazing young people we serve.

For more information about our Baby Bottle Campaign and to schedule a pickup of bottles – Please call 610-603-8010 or email office@marysshelter.org

Wish Lists

We are always in need of the following items to distribute to our residents as well as our Community Outreach clients. Contact us for ideas about hosting a collection at your business, school or social gathering.

Items can be dropped off 9am - 7pm seven days a week. Please stop at the main entrance and someone will assist you. While we do accept gently used items for moms and babies please make sure they are clean, functional and practical. Your donations are appreciated!

Diapers (all sizes needed). Mary’s Shelter joined forces with five local agencies to pilot the Diaper Bank Program & Services in 2016, in response to the growing concern about struggling families “reusing” diapers by letting them dry overnight. The Program started with just 15 families enrolled.

In 2017, Mary’s Shelter was asked to continue this project and become the site for the Berks County Diaper Bank. We currently serve 155 families and diaper 485 children each month.

Partnership with CommunityAid

Mary’s Shelter is excited to be a CommunityAid partner, but we need your help.

CommunityAid Product Partners are a nonprofit human service, first responder, or religious organizations that collect clothing and shoes to sell in stores in return for fundraising assistance.

Help us to continue this amazing community outreach by donating clothes and shoes and dropping them in the CommunityAid bin at Mary’s Shelter or delivering directly to their store. Be sure to mark your donations with our partnership number: 50078!

Clothing we donate to CommunityAid equates to much needed funds to support Mary’s Shelter programs. CommunityAid also offers employment opportunities and gift cards for clothing for our clients, and provide grant opportunities to Mary’s Shelter.
